British Library release over 1 million image from to public domain

The British Library has released over a million public domain illustrations and other images to the public through Flickr for anyone to reuse, remix or repurpose. These images were taken from the pages of 17th, 18th and 19th century books digitised by Microsoft who then generously gifted the scanned images to the British Library, allowing them to release them back into the Public Domain.

The images cover a mix of subjucts, there are colourful illustrations, comical satire, maps, wall paintings, landscapes and so much more. Visit their Flickr page and start searching.
